2012 The Year in Review

2012 The Year in review. I re-joined Dotsero in March after touring with The Samples in 2011. Dotsero received a #1 Album and Song of the Year from Art Goode's Jazz Trax. The year was slammed with shows and was one of Dotsero's busiest years ever.  Dotsero's music is well received everywhere we play. For additional information including booking please check out the website at  www.dotsero.org.

I'd like to pay tribute to my first group Minus Zero. Some of you might remember the days of KHIH radio, we were honored to be the house band for the radio station. I still keep touch with everybody including Chuck Fisher, he plays with Tunisia now, Jim Ledoux, he lives in Connecticut and still plays drums, Mike Quiring is working in the Computer Sciences Industry, and I'm playing with Dotsero. We miss our dear brother Bryan Burton, RIP.
Minus Zero went through some changes of members when Rich Ross joined the group as bassist. Rich joined The Samples after Minus Zero and we still perform together today. Rich invited me into the 2010-2011 Tour with The Samples and we performed all over the US. In 2012 Rich and I teamed up again with our own group and  we recently attended the 2013 NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) Show in Anaheim, California. Rich now lives in Los Angeles.
The band morphed once again with addition of Julius Williams. Every group evolves and changes but Minus Zero had a special sound and without the original line up, it just became another cover band so I closed the business and the group disbanded for good in 2001.

I teamed up with Steve Watts from Dotsero that same year as back keyboardist to Tom Capek.
I have been blessed to have played with great musicians Mike Marlier, Kip Kuepper, Jeff Kashiwa, Hazel Miller, and more. Steve Watts and his wife Sandra bought a club and called it Jazz at Jack's. It's been 12 years now and their club has grown to two locations - the newest one is downtown on the 16th street on the 3rd floor of the Pavillions Shopping Center next to the theaters. See www.jazzatjacks.com
This photo was taken at Dotsero's club at Jazz at Jack's in The Pavillions Mall downtown Denver. It's on the 3rd floor above Maggiano's restaurant. The club has music 7-nights a week and is available for private parties as well. Denver is very blessed to have this venue. For booking information please contact Sandra Watts. She can be reached through the website; www.jazzatjack's.com

This is the group that Rich Ross formed in 2012. It includes Dave Preston from Justin Timberlake, Ryan Macmillan from Matchbox 20, and Sam Gathman from JT as well. This star-studded group was formed for Brian Griese benefit party, Judi's House at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, CO and continues to book for private parties only. For more information see www.ubeband.com/

It's been a great year. I'll be posting new shows with Dotsero and others soon and I'll have a report from the NAMM Show in Anaheim as well. Big news coming with thoughts of opening a new music store!
